About Judi
Welcome to my original art collection!
My journey into the world of art began in my homeland of England with a four-year scholarship to the Ipswich School of Art. After a few years in Singapore, our family of five immigrated to Canada in 1966, settling in Ontario. During that time, I added to my studies in art with workshops from many skilled artists such as Brian Atyeo, David Crow, Art Cunanan, Linda Kemp, Barry McCarthy, Laura Urquhart, Frank Francese and, Zoltan Szabo.
I enjoy watercolor landscapes as well a closer view of nature with flower portraits. One technique I have gained recognition for is watercolor painting on masa paper. Another medium easily adapted to watercolor is dye on silk. You can find these techniques and more in my gallery collections.
Enjoy browsing the galleries and please send me an email if you have any questions or wish to purchase available originals.
In the following years I joined art associations in Ontario many of which were Juried Shows:
Kitchener-Waterloo Society of Artists (KWASSA)
The Central Ontario Art Association
Homer Watson House & Gallery
KOR Gallery and Studios
Cambridge Centre for the Arts
Kitchener City Hall
Kuntz House Community Gallery
Kitchener Public Library
After moving to Comox, BC in 2006
I rapidly joined:
The Pearl Ellis Gallery
The federation of Canadian Artists
The Comox Valley Art Gallery
The Old School House in Qualicum Beach
The Silk Painters of Vancouver Island
and The Botanical Artists of Canada
My work has been shown in 160 Solo Shows (only my work in each one) and countless community and group shows in Ontario and on Vancouver Island - too many to list! I now reside in Calgary and the years have caught up with me so although the skills remain the energy is lacking - very few new pieces appear. In 2024 I did paint a dozen 10 x 10" orchids following a visit to the annual Foothills Show!
