Watercolor on Paper
These cabbages drew my attention and I wondered if I could paint both colors and the shapes on flat paper and make them look curled and stiff? The only way I would find out is by doing it! The main subjects developed as I’d hoped, but the image needed something to stop the long diagonal across the top. While I was a store featuring spring plants, I saw those frilly burgundy leaves and I added them to the painting when I reached home. The finishing touch - and just what the painting needed.
