Shortly before the disastrous floods in Calgary, Alberta, in 2013, I painted this scene of the Elbow River, which joins the Bow River. The flood caused many areas of the downtown core to flood, including the Calgary Stampede and Calgary Zoo. Together with the city, thousands of residents banded together to join the official emergency clean-up crew.
